About the program:

With the help of our supporting partner Canada Skateboard, our volunteers are able to cover the cost of a rental bus and give skaters in the community a chance to hop on for free. We choose a nearby park to skate for the day, and then while we’re there we provide pizza and prizes, as well as tips and lessons for beginners. No board? No problem! We have 10 complete boards for anyone to use.

Why we do it:

A lot of great new skateparks have been popping up all around Peterborough over the last few years, but we recognize that not everyone has a car, or might not be old enough to travel alone. Everyone deserves a chance to get out of town for a minute, and it’s a great way to meet other skaters and learn tricks.
