Vision
A vibrant and celebrated skateboarding community in Peterborough, driven by collaborative partnerships that support the broad development of this growing all-ages culture and sport, with respect to the diversity, creativity, and self-determination at its core.
Mission
Our mission is to improve skateboard spaces, events, and programming in the City of Peterborough through advocacy, partnering and engagement, and fundraising in concert with local skateboarders and families, the City of Peterborough, and other supporters and private donors.
Provision Strategy for Skateboard Facilities
Who we are
The Peterborough Skateboard Coalition is a registered Ontario not-for-profit (OCN:1000429479) formed in 2023 and guided by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of members of the Peterborough skateboard community.
Our Advocacy
Our goal is to see skateboarders flourish and be recognized as valuable and contributing members of society, as well as the broader global skateboard community. We advocate for more places to play and respect for our culture.
Local advocacy includes:
- Initiating and maintaining meaningful dialogue with municipal partners
- Advancing skateboarding infrastructure projects and soliciting program funding
- Creating opportunities for partnerships with like-minded organizations and donors
Broader advocacy includes:
- Seeking access national sport funding for our community
- Promoting our local scene and skaters to outside audiences
